On March 8, I taught an origami workshop at the Moody Center for the Arts as part of the Moody Collaborative. This was my first time hosting a workshop so I wasn’t sure if I should teach step-by-step to everyone or let people go at their own pace. I decided to let people go at their own speed, which gave everyone more flexibility in what they could create.
Participants could choose between 3 bases (wooden stick, chopstick, hoop) and 3 origami creations (heart, butterfly, crane). The workshop ended up being a success, and the creations turned out a lot better than I thought they would. However, for future workshops, I will definitely talk more and be more social to my participants because the workshop was very quiet for the most part. I hope I can teach another workshop in the future!
